I love these speakers, but I am pretty sure they aren't making them anymore. That's alright, since Polk is pretty good about keeping successful speaker designs and using them in newer series. Look for this setup and you'll get a nice sound, best suited for smaller rooms (with a sub-woofer) or as a rear pair in a larger setup. Nice sound quality and imaging at a reasonable price.
In the end I selected them because they have good low frequency response for small speakers and because they have furniture-grade wood enclosures. I needed some shelftop speakers for the old stereo system in my home office so I did a lot of web research to find an affordable solution. These were seldom mentioned but lots of other Polk speakers were rated highly so I assumed they would be of high quality. They are fantastic. They exceeded my expectations and I got them at a bargain price.
I am currently using these speakers in a stereo music setup but intend to switch them to a home theater application. Overall it has the characteristic Polk sound which is mellow and not fatiguing. They deliver excellent midrange and midbass. I find the soundstage a little lacking and that there is not much "air" in the sound - probably the result of the tweeter rolling off at higher frequencies. I recommend them heartily to users who are looking for value rather than perfection. They are well built and attractive with decent quality binding posts with the ability to biamp them via a second set of posts.
I bought these speakers from J&R and I'm pleasantly surprised how good they sound great value for the money.
Im only running them out of a stereo 200 watt amp and they still sound very good. These speakers were better than i expected. They produce good deep tones that you wouldnt expect out of such a small speaker. Also when i hooked them up to the tv the sound was also very good. They were the first Polk speakers ive gotten and would consider more after these.
